Inspiration

I love Railway’s UI and UX, but it can get expensive for memory-heavy apps. platformd brings a similar experience to $5 VPS. With security in mind.

What it does

An open-source platform for one VPS: deploy services, PostgreSQL, Redis, object storage, domains, volumes, backups, logs, metrics, and private networking from one canvas.

Cloudflare Access protects the control plane, while Cloudflare handles TLS and secure public routing for services.

How we built it

First I drafted spec with 5.6 sol, then i used /goal to implement it one shot. Got a working prototype. Remaining days spend on improving ui and fixing remaining bugs and adding additional features. When drafting spec i selected golang (because it is used a lot in devops stuff, podman, bun for frontend)

Challenges we ran into

Pleasuring experience overall, maybe 5.6 sol is a little bit too verbose and takes more decisions for you than neccessary.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That you can built such a big platform in a short time with frontier models.

What we learned

infa is hard

What's next for platformd

Support for more managed services. Richer database tooling. Bug fixes of course.
