Inspiration

One of our teammates and some of our friends who live in dorms often struggle to decide what to cook for dinner. They have limited options because they don’t have many recipes in mind.

What it does

Plateful helps users find the most suitable recipe based on their preferences and budget.

How we built it

We designed the user experience with Figma and connected our project to a recipe API to generate personalized meal suggestions.

Challenges we ran into

This was our first time working with an API, and we faced challenges presenting the information effectively to the AI. We also ran out of time to design the homepage the way we envisioned.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

that as first & 2nd year students we were able to implement a working AI API for the first time
that we created an aesthetically pleasing user interface using figma
we created an app with complex functionality in less than 24 hrs
generated an idea that no other existing products do after pivoting when existing products already were on the market with the original idea
