Motivation
My inspiration came from seeing a cow munching on bananas that were covered in plastic.
What it does
This web platform not only raises awareness about plastic; it also teaches users and provides plastic solutions. Using a deep learning model, it can determine how long it will take for plastic to degrade given a picture of the material; additionally, it has a plastic recycling track center, and users can monitor the amount of plastic they use; this allows us to calculate the amount of water and air pollution the user contributes to.
How we built it
We used Teck stack components such as React Router, TailwindCSS, TensorFlow.js, chart.js, leaflet.js, and MERN (MongoDB, ExpressJS, ReactJS, and NodeJS).
Challenges we ran into
To create a footprint that uses user data and displays the amount of plastic a user uses and how much air, water, and soil the user pollutes according to user input, as well as a deep learning model that detects plastic and notifies the user of how long it will take for the plastic to degrade.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have incorporated with the best stacks, educating people about plastic and helping the environment.
What we learned
How plastic is destroying the planet so much and making many animals suffer and die as a result of human use of plastic.
