Plasmapharesis as a control for cytokine storm

Inspiration

The cases with complicated course of COVID-19 are experiencing cytokine storm and inadequate immune response. Many ckinical trials are ongoing for modulating the immune response to alleviate the acute lung injury. On the other hand, plasmapharesis is a well known procedure for filtering the plasma during inappropriate acute immune reactions and may be effective in controlling the symptoms in advanced cases of ARDS due to cytokine storm.
