Inspiration

We wanted to make plant identification simple and instant for everyone. Planto was inspired by the need for better everyday plant care guidance.

What it does

Planto identifies plants from a photo in seconds using AI. It also gives quick care tips so users can keep plants healthy.

How we built it

We built Planto with an AI image recognition pipeline for fast detection. The app was designed to be clean, lightweight, and mobile-first.

Challenges we ran into

Getting accurate results across lighting, angles, and blurry photos was tough. We also optimized performance so identification feels instant.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We achieved fast plant detection with a smooth user experience. The app makes plant care feel simple, not overwhelming.

What we learned

Good AI needs strong edge-case handling, not just high accuracy. UX matters as much as the model when users want quick answers.

What's next for Planto

We’ll add more plant types and improve care recommendations. Next updates will include smarter reminders and personalized plant tracking.
