Inspiration

Managing daily tasks often feels overwhelming, especially with cluttered tools and apps. We wanted to create a minimalist yet powerful solution that inspires users to plan effectively while embracing a visually appealing interface. The starry theme represents limitless possibilities and encourages users to dream big while achieving their daily goals.

What it does

Planora is a task management web app designed to simplify planning. It allows users to create, save, and manage tasks with features like date assignment, offline storage via localStorage, and an intuitive interface. With a cosmic theme and motivational quotes, it keeps productivity fun and inspiring.

How we built it

Planora was built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We utilized CSS animations and keyframes to create the interactive starry background and smooth visual effects. LocalStorage was implemented in JavaScript to ensure tasks are saved and accessible even offline. The app is fully responsive, adapting to both desktop and mobile devices for ease of use.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was ensuring offline functionality using only localStorage. We also faced difficulties in creating a responsive design that worked seamlessly across devices. Another challenge was balancing simplicity with features, ensuring the interface remained clean while offering all necessary functionalities.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a fully functional, visually appealing task manager within a short time. The offline functionality and dynamic task management rows were significant milestones. The starry design and motivational quotes add a unique touch to the app.

What we learned

We learned how to optimize CSS for animations and responsiveness, how to utilize localStorage for offline support, and how to prioritize user experience while balancing functionality. Team collaboration and efficient problem-solving were also key takeaways.

What's next for Planora

We plan to expand Planora by integrating advanced features like notifications, task prioritization, and progress tracking. We aim to deploy it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) to enhance accessibility. A mobile app version and cloud sync for cross-device access are also on our roadmap.
