Inspiration
We wanted to keep track of things in our bucket list for Berkeley, such as visiting the Big C (or finishing our homework more than a day before it was due). There didn't seem to be an easy way to do so, so we decided to roll out our own website.
What it does
Plannit allows people to save and share their plans for the day with other people.
How we built it
We used the Django framework combined with some old-school HTML and CSS, then used Azure to deploy it.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled with adding user authentication to our site and managing the database for events and plans. Deploying to Azure was much harder than we expected.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Our beautiful css.
- Starting from scratch for almost everything.
- How hard we worked. ## What we learned Everything we used, besides the knowledge of Python, was new to all of us. We learned how to use Django, write HTML/CSS, web deployment, and much more. ## What's next for Plannit We're hoping to make the site more solid and connect it to the domain name we got (plannnit.com), as well as add features such as voting and location tracking for more cities.
