Inspiration
The difficulty of the challenge inspired us. We thought it would push us beyond our limits, and it did.
What it does
It recommends you and your friends 3 destinations for travel based on a survey. Once the survey is done, we compute all the data and compare it with datasets, and using AI, we provide you with the 3 best destinations for your trip.
How we built it
We divided the project into backend and frontend. The backend is done in Python, and we used React for the frontend. We used some libraries like pandas, json, google, etc.
Challenges we ran into
It's been hard to imagine how to organise the project, how it was going to work. We struggled using the APIs and coordinating all the data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our schedule, it's been the key to success. Also, we want to remark on the effort of using some APIs like Gemini, Skyscanner, and Pexels, we hadn't done it before. But the best thing is that we completed the project and it works the way we like.
What we learned
We learned a lot about teamwork, and about using new technologies such as AIs in a different way, APIs, or databases.
What's next for PlanMyTrip
We would like to continue expanding the project with new ideas. We would also like to fix some bugs and improve the recommendation system.
