Inspiration
We got our color palette from duolingo, and we were inspired to pursue this challenge by the Truist challenge. We were inspired by different learning minigames from our childhood, and tried to implement them as a learning activity for balance sheets and learning how to find a business' EBITDA
What it does
Our project is a website hosted by github with the purpose of educating viewers on the key aspects of balance sheets, as well as what to look for and how to calculate EBITDA for larger businesses.
How we built it
We built our website from scratch in VSCode with HTML, CSS, and Javascript
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of ambitions for how we wanted to approach this challenge, but given the time limit, we didn't have enough time to implement everything we wanted. We also did not have a lot of experience with web programming, with our experience coming from object-oriented programming languages like Java and C.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We worked really hard and pushed our web development skills to the test by creating unique games that function beyond anything we expected, aiming to provide a fun game as well as an interesting learning experience for the user
What we learned
We learned the value of realism when it comes to deadlines. We also learned how to style things a little bit better. We also sharpened our Javascript skills with new levels of interactivity and game function
What's next for PlanIT
Beyond this project, we hope to turn this into an actually useful tool for potential use. By refining the experiences, adding that unfinished third game, adding in other features, and a login system, we can leave this project looking better than ever
