Inspiration

As students ourselves, we understand the struggles of balancing academics, extracurricular activities, and personal commitments. Inspired by our own experiences, we wanted to create a solution that simplifies scheduling for students and helps them stay organized during their time in college.

What it does

Planet is a web application designed to streamline scheduling for students. Our website utilizes Angular and HTML/CSS, allowing users to effortlessly manage their tasks and events. Although our AI chatbot feature is under development, we hope to implement it in the future. Furthermore, Planet incentivizes productivity by rewarding users with points redeemable for merchandise.

How we built it

We built Planet using Angular for the frontend and HTML/CSS for the user interface. We also used Figma to design our website.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was integrating the AI chatbot feature into the application. Due to technical complexities, we encountered delays in its development. We also tried to use Angular which was a framework relatively new for our members.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have developed a pleasing UI design even if our web app was not executed to the same level. Despite the challenges we faced, we successfully implemented essential features for our application. Additionally, launching the points-based incentive system was a significant accomplishment, as it adds a unique motivational aspect to the application.

What we learned

Throughout the development process, we gained valuable insights into frontend development using Angular and HTML/CSS. We also learned the importance of adaptability and prioritization when faced with unexpected challenges. Moreover, we discovered the significance of user feedback in shaping the direction of the application.

What's next for planet

Moving forward, we plan to continue refining and enhancing Planet to provide an even better user experience. This includes further development of the AI chatbot feature to automate task and event management. We also hope to learn more about training our own LLM in order to have a model relevant to our purposes. The future of Planet is out of this world!
