What it does
It scrapes reviews from Planet Terp and summarizes them for the user to see.
How we built it
Used python to scrape the data and process the reviews into a single summary. Used HTML and CSS to allow for user interaction.
Challenges we ran into
Finding the correct ai model for an accurate summary. Also bridging the gap between python and webdev side.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Producing solid summaries given thousands of tokens. Viewing reviews for each professor and course from user input.
What we learned
We learned how to develop a product in a team effectively. By communicating our strengths and weaknesses, we were able to cover for each other and combine parts.
What's next for Planet Terp SummarAI
Maybe implement more accurate summaries using gpt models. (paid)
