Inspiration

I had tried to make three other projects but neither of them worked out, then I realized that I could take elements from my other projects and make a new one altogether! So I thought for a bit and then it came to me. Our lives sometimes get really hectic and hard to keep track of, so what if we could make our lives easier by letting an AI do all the household tasks that we normally have to do ourselves for example watering plants! It's easy to forget, but for an AI it's as easy remember as us remembering to eat.

What it does

My project, the 'FutureHome', is an entirely AI automated home in which you tell your HomeBot to do your household tasks like telling the vacuum to clean, or even just turning on a fan.

How I built it

I used the thinkland 'Speech to Text' AI on Scratch 3.0 to make it so that the program can listen to my verbal command and preform the assigned action.

Challenges I ran into

I began with a completely different plan where I was going to use the image classifier to train the model to distinguish between trash and recycling but the model wasn't training correctly and so when I had begun on this project I was extremely short of time.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am very happy with what I accomplished in my short time frame and really do believe that I made a good project and am very proud of myself. I also learned how to use different kinds of AI and am fascinated to learn how much AI can truly do.

What I learned

I learned a lot about AI, but the hackathon helped with not only coding but with improving my own self-confidence and furthering my abilities. I explored many different machine learning models and really would love to explore more.

What's next for FutureHome!

I would like to make FutureHome even better and improved by automating food and making it so that the HomeBot will be so technologically advanced that it will almost feel like family. For automated cooking I may try to add a 3d food printer which HomeBot can use to print food.
