Inspiration Plane Jesus was born from a trance-like memory on a commercial shoot with THE Captain Jack where I participated as a actor — hours of dancing inside a plane set to “Hey Ho Captain Jack” made one other actor look uncannily divine. That surreal moment inspired an original psychedelic rock track, and when the Chroma competition came along, I knew the music had to drive the visuals. The result: a speculative ad for “Heavenly Fizz,” a fictional ginger ale endorsed by airborne messiahs.
What it does It’s a 33-second AI-powered spec ad that blends surreal storytelling, psychedelic rock, and divine branding. The video introduces a fictional beverage with celestial flair, using a continuous camera effect to immerse viewers in a flowing, dreamlike sequence.
How we built it Concept & script: Microsoft Copilot helped shape the narrative and refine prompts Visuals: MidJourney for stills, Nanobanana for consistency and transition frames Motion: Kling AI with start/end frame interpolation and stitched clips for continuous camera effect 2D Animation: MidJourney assets split into layers, animated in Kling using green/blue screen backgrounds, composited in post Audio: Suno AI for original psychedelic rock, timed to visuals for rhythmic cohesion Editing: DaVinci Resolve for assembly, Fusion for tracked typography Upscaling: Topaz Gigapixel & Topaz Video for cinematic clarity
Challenges we ran into Creating the continuous camera effect required perfecting each 5-second clip individually Maintaining character consistency across frames demanded creative use of transition images Kling’s lack of alpha channel support meant green/blue screen workarounds for 2D animation Syncing visuals to music required precise timing and iterative refinement
Accomplishments that we're proud of Seamless 13-second continuous camera sequence introducing all characters and environment Original AI-generated music integrated with visual rhythm Successful use of 2D animation within a generative workflow A cohesive audiovisual experience built entirely with AI tools and human oversight
What we learned AI tools can unlock ambitious stylistic experiments — but they still need a creative director. Transition frames, layered animation, and beat-synced editing pushed the workflow beyond simple generation. The process was playful, technical, and deeply personal.
What's next for Plane Jesus I’m exploring a follow-up: Plane Jesus: The In-Flight Sermon. A mock safety video meets messianic monologue — with more music, more motion, and even more bubbles.
