Inspiration

Developers work in hospital setting as nurses and understand challenges around rostering. When it comes to scheduling your shift works, its the manger who dictates your work-life balance most of the time. Also not to mention the hardships the managers undergo when scheduling their rosters for their staff.

What it does

Plancord app is worlds first disruptive work-life balance software platform for scheduling your employees. With Plancord, the employees works in a group and schedule their shift, The software and automation tools ensures that staff can negotiate and be fair with their colleagues while rostering their schedule.

How I built it

Team got together , shaped the ideas, validated with fellow nursing colleagues and considered various scenarios and built it using react-native

Challenges I ran into

The main challenge was buy in from the managers, resistance to change from existing legacy system

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We won 2000 Euro funding from Spark Seed Funding, HSE, Ireland.

What I learned

Change management in healthcare is very hard. Getting managers time to run the pilot is not easy.

What's next for plancord

With the COVID pandemic, staff are redeployed and volunteers are working on this crisis on war footage. Plancord enables to schedule the volunteers and the rest of the staff as per their availability. Plancord here provides the flexibility for volunteers to work based on the hospital needs.
