Inspiration

Our team brainstormed and considered multiple different ideas, but we ultimately agreed on plan pal because we all thought that making plans is extremely hard. Making plans, especially in a group chat, barely ends well. The personal experience of trying to create organized plans with multiple plans and having them fail is what inspired our team to make plan pal.

What it does

Plan pal is an app that makes planning hangouts with friends easier. The app allows the user to create an account through the signup page, or log in to their previously made account on the login page. They also have other options such as logging in with Google or Facebook. Once in, users can view their profile, which shows a calendar of their upcoming hangouts and plans throughout the month. The user can also go to the find friends page and add people with mutual friends or friends from their contacts. They would also be able to see their friend requests and can decline or accept them. To view their invites, the user can check their invites tab to see if their friends invited them to any hangouts. There, they can view who invited them, who else was invited, what the hangout is for, and where and when the hangout is. They can also create their own hangouts by entering the information of the hangout, such as time, date, location, and who to invite. Finally, users can use the chat tab to message their friends, through texting, video calls, audio calls, or group chats.

How we built it

We built it through the online website called Figma.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge we ran into was having to learn how to use Figma. At first, the functions were all complicated and we spent a good hour trying to figure everything out. After that, however, we started to understand the basics of Figma and worked pretty smoothly from there on out.

What's next for plan pal

We plan to take this app beyond just designing it on Figma. Our team wants to build the plan pal app next and let it help people plan hangouts in the future.
