The budgeting app we have used before haven given us headaches whenever we have tried to track our expenses during travel for not being capable of multiple currency.
What it does
Our project, Plan My Trip, handles this problem. It simplifies this problem by helping you track your spending in real-time, whether you're traveling solo or splitting costs with friends. Just enter your destination, currency, and exchange rate, and the app converts expenses instantly, so you always know exactly what you're spending in both currencies. With categorized expenses and collaborative budgeting, we make sure you stay on top of your finances effortlessly.
How we built it
We developed Plan My Trip using Flask for the backend, MongoDB for storing user trips and expenses, and Python for data processing. The frontend is designed to be simple and intuitive, allowing users to input expenses easily. Our currency conversion feature ensures real-time calculations based on the exchange rate entered by the user.
