PlaceLink

• The concept -

PlaceLink is an innovative mobile service developed in Brittany (France), which connects people and places and sends the right information, at the right time and in the right place.

• How it works -

PlaceLink is based on the new technology iBeacon – Bluetooth Low Energy beacons – and a mobile application (iOS and Android).

When users are in a place equipped with a PlaceLink iBeacon, they can launch the mobile application and link themselves to the place. Immediately (and each time they will pass again near that place) they receive contextual information: offers, news, cultural descriptions... on their smartphone.

• Confidence -

Users are free to choose which information they want to receive… or not! They’ll never be disturbed by a structure the didn’t approve and can use the service without giving any personal information.
