Our motivation

Shyness, fear of judgement, or fear of being embarrassed are all familiar feelings to many international students when first starting out their new life in Australia. While gradually international students will find a place in the community, the first step towards doing so is often hard, frustrating, and even prone to failure should there be a lack of existing supportive community. This challenge persists even with the existence and popularity of various support services and information portals, such as eventbrite, meetup, or facebook. Thus, we believe there is a gap for us to fill: encouraging international students to take the first step in trying out new experiences.

Our solution

To do this, we believe in the powers of storytelling. Through stories of fellow international students, a student can feel excited about the experience, guided in terms of what to do and what to expect, and motivated by seeing others taking the leap. We believe this power of storytelling has yet existed in any other platform or information portal for international students, putting us at a unique position.
