Inspiration

I think saving water is a major issue, especially since water is limited, and not all people have it. This led me to thinking "How can I change that? What if I can convince people to use less water and save more for others?"

What it does

This project measures and calculates how much water you used during a shower. We did this by multiplying the flow rate of your shower (how much water comes out) by the duration of the shower (timer). The project is designed to challenge you to take even shorter showers the next time by displaying your previous records. Shorter showers = more water for others.

How we built it

Used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python and other languages. Also used Flask, MongoDB, and Bootstrap.

Challenges we ran into

Right after we finished the project, we ran into an error that we were unable to debug. We tried everything possible to fix it, but nothing worked. I had to revert it back to a previous commit before the error occurred. This deleted several hours of code. Eventually, I managed to make it even better.
