Inspiration

To help homeowners fix potential risks to their houses before it is too late.

What it does

Home Risk is a web app where users can take a quiz to get an initial assessment of current risks their homes may have. This can include that their electrical system may need updated to minimize the risk of a fire in the future. The app will also allow users to upload images that they seem as a potential issue to get a diagnosis. An example being, a user uploading an image of their kitchen sink pipe to analyze current issues and non-issues.

How we built it

We used the basics such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create the front end functionality of the web app. For back end development we used node.js and mongodb for the database. For AI functionality we utilized express.

Challenges we ran into

We faced many challenges when creating our web app from VScode bugs to encountering issues with the AI keys running out. Though we almost encountered issues at every step, our group preserved.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As a group of first time hackathon hackers, we are extremely proud of how much we were able to collaborate and contribute to making a working web app. From creating a attractive design to including an AI model to analyze uploaded images. Leaving WEhack, we can be proud of every step it took to complete this project.

What we learned

We learned what it is like to create a project within a fast pace environment, collaborate with others, and ways to solve unexpected issues.

What's next for House Risk

There is still plenty of functionality within the app that needs to be completely implemented. The next steps for House Risk is to work on such functionality and gather feedback to improve features.
