Inspiration

I love cooking and strategy games and wanted to merge two unrelated genres. The spark was simple: what if the very ingredients you use to cook became the weapons you defend with?

What it does

Pizza Panic is a mobile first game where you run Pier 9 Pizzeria. Make and serve pizzas, earn rewards, then switch to defense mode. Pizza toppings turn into defenders that stop rival chefs, each ingredient with its own tactical role.

How we built it

We designed Pizza Panic as a mobile first experience for Meta Horizon, focusing on quick sessions, clear UI, and a satisfying loop between cooking and defending. We iterated heavily on controls, pacing, and readability to make both halves feel cohesive.

Challenges we ran into

Blending two very different genres without it feeling disconnected was a big challenge. optimization, UI clarity, and tutorial flow all took significant iteration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Crafting a distinct identity, making toppings feel like heroes, and building a loop that feels fresh and fun.

What we learned

Small tweaks to feedback and flow change everything. We deepened our skills across UI/UX, balancing, and system integration.

What's next for Pizza Panic

Expand with more content, polish performance, and explore new mechanics and customization to keep the experience surprising and replayable.
