Inspiration

We had a connection as artists, and we wanted to base our project on that connection.

What it does

Pixelearn is an application meant for new and interested digital artists. With video tutorials, quizzes, and a sandbox, the app is ideal for those looking to start from the beginning and speed towards expertise.

How we built it

For the sandbox demo, we used Raylib, a simple and beginner-friendly game engine. For the outline of the rest of the project, we used Figma, a site for web and application design.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a fair amount of challenges, almost all of which required a meticulous amount of variable tracing in order to resolve them. There was also some trouble with file management, but clear communication and brainstorming solved the problem within minutes.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are all very proud of the final outcome in general, especially since it looked and worked how we had planned it to in the end. The outcome is something we are proud of because it was not easy, but we still managed to do amazing, and seeing it come together is so cool and so worth it.

What we learned

We definitely learned a lot from the project, especially since the design process was pretty complicated in itself because it's hard to decide how we want something to look like, but we learned how to combine all of our ideas together to put together something we feel great about. The coding process was also a huge opportunity for us to learn because with long pieces of code, we can get pretty tangled and confused, but thankfully we learned how to fix any issues and overcome them.

What's next for Pixelearn

In the future, we hope not only to improve the sandbox, but to join both the Figma designs and Raylib sandbox into one comprehensive application. We are considering making more categories of lessons and videos, and even recommendations for digital art programs based on user preferences.
