Inspiration

r/place inspired the idea of individuals making small changes to contribute to a larger goal and draw.io heavily inspired the rules of the game.

What it does

Upon opening the site, users must login and join a game. Ideally organizers (such as employers looking for community and team building opportunities) could create their own games that users could join. Once in the game, users are presented a grid of pixels that they can choose one of to play on. Players would coordinate with others on their team to make big plays using those small individual steps

How we built it

I used AppWrite for my server API's and reactJS for my front end

Challenges we ran into

AppWrite was completely new to me and so learning it took a large portion of my time. Particularly, there is a limit imposed on how many times a certain API can be called (to prevent malicious attacks), but it was far too restrictive and it took a long while to figure out how to disable it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the idea as I believe it is unique and I successfully learned a lot about appwrite and web development in general. My submission is only really a skeleton, and most features described aren't implemented, but am still proud of what I did and the potential I believe this project has

What we learned

I learned a lot about react and user authentication. I also learned about appwrite and what it is capable of. I learned a bit of docker but that was mostly just following a step by step tutorial.
