Inspiration

I were inspired by classic color-by-number and mystery picture worksheets, combined with our love for pixel art and daily brain games. We wanted to recreate that nostalgic experience in a modern, interactive way that feels fresh every day.

What it does

Pixel Art is a daily puzzle experience where users solve a grid-based challenge to reveal a hidden pixel artwork. Each day brings a new puzzle, encouraging consistency, curiosity, and problem-solving through simple visual logic.

How we built it

We built the project using a custom grid system, ASCII-based pixel definitions, and a color-mapping logic to render pixel art dynamically. Each puzzle is generated from predefined patterns and delivered as a daily challenge with lightweight logic and fast rendering.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was maintaining visual clarity at low resolutions (10×10 grids) while ensuring puzzles remained recognizable and fun. Balancing simplicity, symmetry, and difficulty also required multiple iterations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Designed a scalable pixel-art puzzle system
• Ensured consistent daily content without repetition
• Achieved clear, readable pixel art within tight grid constraints
• Built a system that is easy to expand with new puzzles and themes

What we learned

We learned how powerful constraints can be in driving creativity. Working within small grids improved our understanding of visual design, logic structuring, and user engagement through daily content loops

What's next for Pixel Art

Next, we plan to add: • Multiple difficulty levels • Theme-based daily puzzles • Progress tracking, Multiple rewards and streaks • Community-shared puzzle packs
