Inspiration
Most student startups fail not because the founders lack talent, but because they struggle when their initial assumptions prove wrong. We wanted to create a tool that helps aspiring entrepreneurs prepare for uncertainty before it becomes a costly mistake. PivotLab was inspired by the idea that failure can be simulated, learned from, and transformed into a stronger business strategy through AI-driven guidance.
What it does
PivotLab is an AI-powered business helper app that stress-tests startup ideas using realistic market challenges. Users enter their business idea, and the app generates potential risks such as changing customer needs, funding shortages, new competitors, or pricing issues. It then guides founders through quick 5-minute pivot sprints, offering actionable recommendations, alternative business models, and validation strategies. The platform helps entrepreneurs build resilience, make smarter decisions, and adapt their ideas before launching.
How we built it
•Frontend: Flutter (cross-platform mobile app) Backend: Firebase for authentication and database •AI: Large Language Model APIs to generate crisis scenarios and pivot recommendations •UI/UX: Figma for designing an intuitive and founder-friendly interface •Version Control: Git and GitHub for collaboration
