Inspiration

PitchHer was born from our personal experiences—the nervousness, the self-doubt, and the fear that so many women feel when facing interviews. We’ve been there: staring down an interview invitation, trying to practice alone, and feeling the weight of intimidating expectations. So many talented women miss out on opportunities, not due to lack of skill or passion, but because nerves or lack of preparation stand in their way. This project is about rewriting that experience. We’re determined to break the stigma surrounding interviews and to empower women through continuous, accessible practice that builds confidence from the ground up. At PitchHer, we’re here to give every woman the tools to step into every interview with confidence and skill.

What it does

1- Personalized Pairing for Realistic Practice: PitchHer’s intelligent matching system connects users with interviewers who have similar backgrounds and interests, so every practice session feels relevant and realistic. Each conversation is uniquely tailored, making women more prepared for actual interviews in their fields.

2- Instant Peer Connections: PitchHer instantly connects users to professionals and peers for quick, impactful interview practice sessions, simulating an authentic interview environment that prepares users for high-stakes scenarios.

3- AI-Powered Interview Transcripts: Every session is transformed into a comprehensive text transcript, highlighting essential points and providing a reviewable record of the user’s responses. With AI precision, PitchHer makes it easy to focus on areas of improvement.

4- Immediate, Constructive Feedback: The second the interview ends, users receive insightful, constructive feedback on their performance, allowing them to grow with every practice round.

How we built it

1- Live Interview Interface: We crafted our live interface using JSON, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and libraries like Socket.IO, creating a seamless virtual room for interviews. 2- Interactive Demo: Designed in Figma, our demo embodies the user experience we’re delivering. 3- Presentation Design: Using Canva, we brought the vision of PitchHer to life visually for impactful storytelling.

Challenges we ran into

1- Technical Hurdles: Setting up a flawless camera and ensuring clear video and audio were challenges, but we tackled them head-on. 2- Nailing Down the Concept: We went through several ideas before locking in our vision for PitchHer, but it only made our team stronger and our focus sharper. 3-Core Implementation: In a fast-paced hackathon environment, focusing on delivering a high-quality, functional core experience was key—and we nailed it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1- We successfully integrated the camera setup, giving our practice sessions a real, face-to-face feel. 2- Designed a fully interactive demo in Figma. 3- Improved our team’s collaboration and communication, building an open environment that celebrated every idea.

What we learned

PitchHer stretched our abilities, especially in working with technologies like Socket.IO and WebRTC, while honing our skills in UI/UX design. We learned the true value of pushing our technical limits and embracing every new idea with an open mind.

What's next for PitchHer

PitchHer is just getting started. Soon, we’ll introduce volunteer mentors to provide expert interview guidance, AI interviewers for specialized training, and new tools for employers to find job-ready, talented women. In an industry where opportunities can feel out of reach, PitchHer bridges the gap, giving women the confidence to claim their place in tech. With AI insights after each session, PitchHer provides in-depth, actionable feedback to sharpen skills with each practice.

Together, let’s open doors, break barriers, and empower a generation of women to own their future.
