Inspiration

• VC is NOT a level playing field - The typical funded founder is a well-connected white male hailing from a prestigious university
• How can you get funding if you can't be heard? - Most VC firms discard funding applications automatically if the founder does not have an Ivy League degree or FAANG experience
• Pitcher gives every startup the chance to be heard!

What it does

A tool to connect VCs and startups

• VCs can swipe through 30 second pitches (like Tinder ) - seeing ideas from founders they typically wouldn't consider
• Not wasting time on long or uninteresting pitches - just swipe left!
• Gives everyone a seat at the previously inaccessible table of VC funding

How we built it

Frontend: React Native with Expo Backend: Express JS with Multer Auth: Auth0 + LinkedIn Domain: GoDaddy

Challenges we ran into

• LinkedIn Auth0 not working for a long time, almost scrapped
• Team of 2 (other 2 teammates couldn't make it - covid :( )

UI, Auth0, Uploading videos, Sample Pitches, learning Multer

• How to implement Auth0 in react native
• How to upload videos in react native
