Pitch Slapped - AI Singing Judge

Inspiration

Some people sing terrible and it's hard to tell them to stop. So AI can help with that! 🎤💀

Ever been trapped listening to someone butcher your favorite song? We created Pitch Slapped because sometimes you need a brutally honest British AI to do what politeness won't let you do - tell people to STOP SINGING.

What it does

Record 5 seconds of singing, and our merciless AI analyzes the "performance" for volume, pitch, and general crimes against music. Then choose between Harry (savage British male) or Emma (sharp British female) to deliver a personalized roast that would make Gordon Ramsay proud.

"I can barely hear you over the sound of my own disappointment" or "You've violated multiple laws of audio simultaneously" - scientifically-backed musical murder.

How we built it

Built the entire app with ONE prompt to Bolt.new and ElevenLabs integration. React + TypeScript frontend, Web Audio API for real-time analysis, Canvas for waveform visualization, and British AI voices for maximum disdain.

Challenges we ran into

Getting the audio visualization to respond to actual singing instead of just random dancing, proper state management for multiple recordings, and learning that ElevenLabs has usage limits (apparently even AI gets tired of terrible singing), also which links can be shown for the logo, google drive is unfriendly.

Real-time audio analysis that scientifically proves bad singing
Two British AI personalities created in Eleven Labs ready to destroy musical confidence

What we learned

It's extremely funny to have British voices shout at you to shut up. Also, building with AI tools like Bolt is like having a really smart friend do your homework .
