Inspiration: We were inspired by the fact that communication skills are something that are not prioritized unless you are going into a career that requires it. Therefore, we wanted to make it easily accessible.
What it does: It lets you record an audio file and it runs it through whisper and openAI's API in order to analyze and give you feed back on your speeches. And it uses Cloudflare's worker AI in order to send and recieve data from the cloud.
How we built it: Using a react framework, we developed a backend, and a front end. Using graphic design tools like figma, and css for the front end. For the back end, we had to use Cloudflare's worker AI and wrangler to communicate our app's inputs as well as openAPI for the audio analysis?
Challenges we ran into: With this being our first time deploying a web app. We were overwhelmed when we found out that our program needed to have multiple ends. Like, front and back. So that is something that we had to figure out.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We coded a ton and learned a lot in a very short amount of time. None of us have ever even tried to use AI or an API in our code and we figured out how to do a good amount of that. While the final project does not work how we expected, we are very proud of the work we did.
What we learned: We learned how to make a front end and back end code, learned how to incorporate APIs into our code, learned Figma, and many other coding tricks and tips.
What's next for Pitch: Hopefully we can actually get it to work how we expected. Once we get that, we can have it edit Powerpoints and even videos of someone presenting.
