How we built it

Inspired by Williams Racing, where speed, precision, and telemetry are everything. We noticed that software teams often get "stuck in the pits" with blocked issues and lack of visibility. We wanted to bring the high-performance pit wall experience to Jira, replacing boring lists with actionable telemetry.

What it does Pit Lane Dashboard: A "Williams Racing" themed Global Page that instantly visualizes active vs. blocked issues. Blocked Telemetry: Automatically highlights issues that haven't moved in 3 days. Crew Chief (Rovo Agent): An AI agent you can chat with to diagnose blockers and get a "radio check" on your project's status. How we built it Built on Atlassian Forge using Custom UI with React.

Frontend: React with @atlaskit and a custom "Williams Blue" dark mode theme. Backend: Forge FaaS (Function-as-a-Service) using the Jira REST API to fetch live issue telemetry. AI: Implemented a Rovo Agent that uses the rovo:agent module to understand project context and provide natural language status updates. Challenges we ran into Mapping F1 concepts to software metrics was a fun challenge. We also had to ensure the Rovo Agent provided actionable insights rather than just generic summaries, requiring careful tuning of the agent's prompt instructions to act like a real "Race Engineer."

Accomplishments that we're proud of We successfully deployed a fully functional Custom UI app and a Rovo Agent in record time. The "Williams Blue" dark mode aesthetic looks fantastic and fundamentally changes the vibe of Jira from "work" to "race day."

What's next for Pit Crew for Jira We plan to add more "telemetry" sensors—like cycle time prediction and automatic "Pit Stop" alerts when a sprint is dragging. We also want to expand the Rovo Agent to automatically assign "mechanics" (developers) to unblock stuck issues.
