Inspiration

We wanted to join a hackathon and make something interesting, but we didn't know how to go about it until we saw the theme "Pirates" and realized just what we had to do.

What it does

A VR game where you shoot down other pirate ships and asteroids in SPACE to obtain the most gold and become the richest space pirate in the galaxy!

How we built it

We used Unity as the base game engine and then just went from there using C# scripts and free assets from the Unity Asset Store.

Challenges we ran into

We had trouble trying to find a good balance in the controls between difficult yet fair and way too easy to control, as we wanted this to represent a pirate in space.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're truly proud of not only accomplishing it, but porting it to VR and finishing everything in such a short timeframe.

What we learned

We learned a lot more about Unity and how it works with VR, how scripts interact with objects, and so much more.

What's next for Pirates In Space VR

We have plans to continue work on it so we can develop it into something much greater and higher quality.
