I'm delighted that this skill is one of the finalists in the Alexa Beyond Voice challenge!
Based on feedback, I've made some improvements to the game during the Christmas vacation.
Younger players are definitely motivated by trying to find more treasure, so on Echo devices with screens, I've added a count of how many pieces of treasure you've found in the top-right (top-middle on Echo Spot). The total is shown and updated throughout the game.
At the end of each game, on all devices, Alexa announces your final score and also how many pieces of treasure you've taken back to your ship in the last 7 days.
And finally, a small Pirate Maths 'ident' also shown on the top-left of devices with screens to help remind new players what the game is called.
