Inspiration
My inspiration for this app comes from the fact that despite that I'm a very preoccupied student I also learn to incorporate extracurriculars and social time with my peers.
What it does
Like typical calendar apps, users can use Pipeline to set important dates and deadlines and have set reminders for everyday tasks (like work and class schedules). Another main function of Pipeline is event planning, which allows users to reach out and connect with friends while planning possible events. Pipeline's distinct function is checking in at various locations and having the opportunity to see what friends are also doing at that moment.
How I built it
I designed the user interface of Pipeline through Ionic Creator.
Challenges I ran into
The biggest challenge I had was not having any experience in coding or programing. This setback initially flustered me. Thinking that I was at a huge disadvantage, I initially thought that I would be unable to produce anything. Another setback I ran into was simply thinking of an idea for an app that would prove useful that has not already been designed yet.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
An accomplishment that I personally take pride in is being able to further develop my networking skills with my fellow peers. I'm also proud of being able to learn to familiarize myself with basic interface design (Ionic Creator) and developing a taste in coding language.
What I learned
Something important I learned is that there isn't always guidance in whatever you choose to do. Instead all that can really be done is for you to work and adapt to what is available to them, in other words work with whatever hand you are dealt.
What's next for Pipeline
I want to be able to further develop my programming skills and possibly turn Pipeline into an actual functioning application.
