What it does

This project mainly aims to capture the huge amount of data that is generated from buildings. With the help of cognitive computing, the data that is captured, will be used to make informed decisions about how to optimize the experience of occupants and management. With cognitive capabilities, our buildings will learn to be better at whatever they are designed for.

For the user's end, the whole interaction takes place with this bot.

A bot that remembers: The bot understands the users context and pulls data that is relevant to it. It has the capability to pull up from previous records based on the user's usage. For example, if the user turns on the geyser for particular weather condition, the bot analyzes this, and next time when this condition is met, it asks the user automatically.

A bot that learns. Look for the data that it has access to, for example, user commands to turn on the washing machine, the system looks for the water level, and then based on the water level, it turns on the washing machine. A bot that understands you.

The user has total control of the entire building right here. The system tries to understand the user behavior and his requirements and figures what to do. The system keeps on learning with the users each move.

Talk or text for latest updates about the building, for example, water level, and control through the messenger bot. The bot controls the entire house (understands natural language), let it be lights or the door or the curtains. With this bot, the user can interact and explore new possibilities. The user gets the insight of data of his building and the bot helps him to to take better decisions based in this data in an interactive way.

This can be implemented mainly in residential buildings, office spaces, schools, and hospitals. This system will also be very helpful for differently abled people.

How I built it

We have used IBM watson api's, node.js.

Challenges I ran into

One of the major challenge was consumer adaptation of IOT. For this we have come up with a device, which is totally plug-n-play and requires no physical installation. Considering the number of facebook users, users will not need much of additional knowledge to use the system through this bot.
