Inspiration

I like travelling and discover new places, but at some point the ordinary way of sight seeing became boring. So now I prefer to get lost in streets of the city rather than chasing sights.

What it does

So I’ve created the app, that help you focus on the area you’ve really discovered (by feet or on any transport). While other areas are blinded out. You can only see some main sights markers, without ability to make a rout or see it’s details.

How we built it

With the help of Google Maps SDK (to render map, show current location, discovered area and sights markers) and Places API (to find out points if interest of the current city).

Challenges we ran into

Time :) As the major part of the app was implemented TODAY!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Well, I’m proud to fight my perfectionism and being able to apply with the bare minimum rather than not apply at all.

What we learned

I’ve finally played with new Swift concurrency a bit.

What's next for Pioneer

Oh, a lot:

• UX and code optimisations
• saving discover progress between app launches (better on cloud)
• more achievements logic
