Inspiration

I was inspired to create PinoyEats because I wanted to share the amazing variety of Filipino food and culture. I thought it would be a fun way to introduce people to our dishes while also practicing my web development skills.

What it does

PinoyEats showcases different Filipino foods, their ingredients, and recipes. It gives users a simple way to learn about the dishes and even try cooking them at home.

How we built it

I built PinoyEats using only vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. HTML was used for the structure, CSS for the styling and responsiveness, and JavaScript for navigation and interactivity.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges I faced was making the website responsive on all screen sizes. It took some trial and error, but I learned a lot about CSS media queries and flexible layouts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud that I was able to finish a complete website from scratch using only vanilla code. I also improved a lot in making my websites responsive and discovered more about the different functions of CSS that helped me style and organize the site better.

What we learned

I learned how to make layouts more responsive, how to manage multiple pages with plain HTML/CSS/JS, and how to write cleaner, more organized code without frameworks.

What's next for PinoyEats

I want to add more Filipino dishes, and maybe even add a search or filter feature so users can find their favorite food faster. I’d also like to make the site more interactive and user-friendly over time.
