Inspiration

Pinocchio – A Silent Tale was inspired by the idea of what silence can reveal when words disappear. Instead of retelling the familiar story, I wanted to show a single fleeting moment — where innocence meets awareness, and emotion replaces speech.

What it does

This 17-second AI short transforms a classic tale into a poetic reflection. It captures the quiet tension between creation and conscience — leaving the audience with a haunting, wordless ending.

How we built it

The film was created using Hailuo AI for visual generation and CapCut for editing and timing. Each frame was carefully composed to maintain cinematic lighting, texture, and emotional continuity in a vertical 9:16 format.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing realism and symbolism in such a short duration was difficult. Keeping the emotional weight of the story without any dialogue or sound required precision in visual tone and pacing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Achieving emotional depth in only 17 seconds — entirely without dialogue — became the film’s greatest strength. It’s a reminder that even the smallest stories can evoke powerful emotions.

What we learned

Silence can be cinematic. And in the right frame, even an AI-generated puppet can feel human.
