PINK - The Breast Cancer Awareness App

A one-stop space for all women associated with breast cancer, the ones looking for awareness, undergoing treatment, or the survivors of the cancer, so they can come together to form a safe community.

Inspiration

Stupidcancer.org, and all the women having to battle something so tough as cancer.

What it does

Makes a safe community for all the women associated with breast cancer, be it in the form of awareness, or for someone undergoing treatment, or the survivors of breast cancer.

How I built it

We designed it using Figma, and implemented the code in Flutter in Android Studio.

Challenges we ran into

All our teammates weren't familiar with Figma and Flutter, but the rest of the teammates helped them feel familiar with the software, so that everyone could contribute in the end.

What we learned

We made a full functioning app that looks beautiful, even if it was the first hackathon for two of our teammates. If we work together as a team, acknowledge everyone's opinion and ideas, use each member's skills to our advantage, we can accomplish anything.

What's next for PINK

For PINK - The Breast Cancer Awareness App, our aim is to add more interactive features and topics so that one day we can deploy it into the real world and make a safe community for women associated with breast cancer, so they can come together and impact the world in a positive way. No one should feel alone when going through something so difficult, and it would be an honor if we can help the cause even a little bit.
