What inspired our team were the amount of Breast Cancer Survivors in the US (3.5 million) that had poor social ties that resulted in recurrence of the disease and death from the disease. Also the fact that men, due to the stigma of having a "women's disease" are also isolated and alone.

We learned the importance of including all Breast Cancer patients, regardless of gender, in conversations about the disease as well as support. We also wanted to move the survivor beyond "survival" to better quality of life through healthy connections.

We designed our app by ensuring everything we do is anchored in a human centered approach. Our process begins with the person because that is who we are designing for (i.e. interviewed a Breast Cancer Survivor).

The challenges we faced were ensuring we were focused on our core goal. We had so many features we'd love to include in our POC, but we were short on time.
