Inspiration
We were inspired to follow this challenge when listening to the unique product that IndiTex Tech had developed. Technological development focusing on making people's lives more convenient is a topic that each team member agreed would be interesting, especially when it helps the world be more expressive.
What it does
During our brainstorm session, our team noticed that many users would have a hard time taking or providing a photo of their dream outfit, but they would certainly know how to describe it. Our project uses Gemini Image generation AI to provide potential images for the user, which they would later search the Inditex stores with.
How we built it
All the members of this team already know each other from before this event, so we intuitively filled the required roles in a way that most aligns with our skills and interests. Without going into too many technical details, we can say that we used state-of-the-art AI generation technologies, scraped the web shops of many IndiTex brands and developed a user-friendly experience for all.
Challenges we ran into
Getting to know an entirely new API certainly has its challenging moments. Our team also overcame geo-blocked resources and had fun solving problems with regards to publishing our project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team is delighted that we have a working version of this project, as that is often uncertain in hackathons. It also includes a system for gathering data from web shops to show on our user-oriented interface.
What we learned
Each team member learned more about the technologies that they signed up to work on. Throughout the hackathon, we all realised how much information is on the internet and how one can learn from it, and also scrape the data to build new solutions.
What's next for PindiTex
PindieTex already has a system to scrape other shops under the IndiTex brand, so the team is eagerly waiting for more updates on the Visual Search API so our view can be finalised.
