The Pin Point Story The Spark We’re living in a "Reality Crisis." Today, AI can fake almost anything digital, but it still can’t physically stand on a street corner or look inside a building. That was our "Aha!" moment. We built Pin Point to bridge the gap between digital claims and physical truth. We’re turning everyday people into the world’s trusted sensors to verify what AI simply cannot.

What it Does Pin Point is a real-time "Ground Truth" network. If an insurance company or a neighbor needs to know the truth about a location—like "Is this storm damage real?"—they send a request. Nearby users (Verifiers) get an alert, head to the spot, and snap a live photo. We bypass the phone’s gallery entirely to stop AI-uploads. Every photo is stamped with GPS and motion data, filtered by ML for accuracy, and recorded on the Solana blockchain so the proof can never be tampered with.

The Build We went for a "Clean Tech" vibe using React and Vite for a smooth, minimalist dashboard. On the technical side, we used TensorFlow.js for scene detection and Solana to handle our reputation system. By hashing every verification on-chain, we made sure a user’s "Trust Score" is earned and transparent, not just a number in a database.

The Hurdles The toughest part was stopping "Gallery Injection"—where hackers try to trick the camera with a fake photo. We beat this by analyzing subtle "visual noise" and gyroscope movement that AI generators can't replicate yet. We also had to protect our users, so we built automatic Face Blurring that works right on the phone before a photo ever hits the cloud.

What We Nailed We’re most proud of our Trust Shield algorithm. It’s a smart way to calculate a user’s reputation by balancing their total verifiers against their daily streak. This ensures the most consistent and honest people have the loudest voice in the network. Seeing a request go from a question to a blockchain-verified answer in under two minutes was our biggest win.

Lessons & Future We learned that the best way to fight AI fraud isn't with more AI—it’s with Human Integrity. AI is great for filtering data, but only humans can provide the truth. Next, we want to turn Pin Point into a "Truth API" for companies like Chubb, allowing them to verify insurance claims instantly with 100% confidence.
