Inspiration

We have family members who heavily rely on daily prescribed medications for their health. There are troubles in getting these daily medications due to language barriers and the time required out of their busy schedules to get them. Therefore, we wanted to create a mobile app that gives a more efficient way of communication between the local pharmacists and the clients. There are several features such as a personal medication reminder, notifications of medication (ready to pick up), scanner to easily reorder a needed prescription, and connection with pharmacists and physicians.

What does it do

The features presented on the web app are personal medication reminders, individual profile with medical information and medication.

How we built it

We used HTML and CSS to build the front end of the website, along with the chrome extension.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest obstacles we ran into was time. With very basic skill sets and lots to learn we were not able to incorporate all the features that we would like to implement.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our final website that serves to help pharmacies and clients to enhance prescribed medication services. The amount of time and effort we spent on our first hackathon has enabled us to see our vision to use technology to help the health of our community with a sharable platform.

What we learned

We learned how to make a chrome extension and the front end of the website. We experienced and learned from our first CruzHacks. CruzHacks 2020 was our first hackathon, and although we struggle to create our project, we gained valuable skills that we hope to apply to future hackathons.

What's next for Pilly.tech

We hope to create a mobile app that includes better features such as voice controls and voice reminders. It also comes with a camera scanner which can be directly sent from users to their own pharmacy. Database with security implementation to protect each client's personal information. An SMS/Email notification that alerts when medication is ready to be picked up.
