PillJogger is a full featured mobile medical adherence application backed by a server-based platform for exchanging medical information, incentives, content and commercial opportunities between consumers, sponsors and medical providers. The platform is primarily designed for prescription drugs but is adaptable for diabetes, blood pressure maintenance, dietary supplements, nonprescription medications, weight control and exercise. PillJogger was founded by a physician to address the abysmal medication adherence rates which are well described: WHO reports only 50% of adults take medicine as prescribed. Additionally, with 75% of adult Americans on at least one prescribed pharmaceutical and up to 90% not fully adherent, hundreds of billions of dollars are wasted on unnecessary physician visits and hospitalizations and morbidity related expenses. PillJogger addresses adherence by leveraging the power of mobile communications, game content and incentives. Our team of designers, engineers, MBAs and the founding physician has created a platform that is non-doctrinaire, fun, dynamic and rewarding with content focused on the demographics and past interactions of each consumer Adherence data is uploaded to the company's server and may be sent to authorized parties, including providers. This allows both improved motivation and early intervention to cut into the significant financial and human costs arising from medical non-adherence. PillJogger is also an educational platform as well as marketing and merchandising engine. Always free to users, PillJogger is monetized by retailers wishing to drive in-store and on-line traffic using the platform’s focused mCouponing and “deal of the moment” tm features. Additional sponsor include pharmaceutical manufacturers and insurers both of whom stand to gain from improved adherence.
