Inspiration
We wanted to create a health system that was personalizable and accessible for all age ranges.
What it does
Our app is a Smart Pill Management System at its core, but it has increased functionality of acting as a health task manager, and reminder app for all of the user's health concerns. The purpose of the app is to incorporate data analytics and reminders that aid in maintaining consistent health routines.
How we built it
We started with research of the age demographic we wanted to target and created two user personas. Our first persona was Emily, a senior with mild dementia, and our second persona was David, a 30 year old who wants to have more work-life balance. We defined their pain points and devised tools to address them. We drew mockups of our app and then used that to create a detailed, interactive wireframe on Figma.
Challenges we ran into
Learning how to use Figma was a challenge
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating an app that represents our vision by making it personalizable, able to promote a healthy lifestyle, and able to provide health monitoring to individuals who may not be able to accomplish that themselves. We are also proud of thinking out of the box and going past the prompt to add functionality like a chatbot and a task manager.
What we learned
We learned that it is important not to rush the beginning ideation stage. It is better to have a thought out product rather than rushing to develop something that is half-baked.
What's next for Pillar
We have created a wireframe for our app, so the next stage would be getting user input and refining our design to address our goals better. Then we would need to develop this app either as a webpage or Android/iOS app. The future stages would be creating tailored recommendations for individuals managing cognitive impairments, ensuring medication adherence, providing, enhanced features catering to professionals, promoting seamless work-life integration, and expanding our reach to a global userbase.
