Inspiration

We thought of a creative idea to have a platform that makes people engage in a social game. We were inspired by the children's game manhunt / tag, so anyone can play the game in a larger scale in the chaos of London.

What it does

Game Rules: Run as far away from each other as possible in the initial time given When the game begins, one or more of you will be randomly chosen to be the Hunters and the rest are Pigeons. Hunters must chase the Pigeons while the Pigeons attempt to get to the Base which is a well known landmark in London. If a Pigeon gets caught, they become a Hunter and must also Hunt the Pigeons. For the Hunters to win they must catch all the Pigeons. For the Pigeons to win they must all reach the Base. Good Luck!

How we built it

The back end of the game is run by Python on PyCharm.

Challenges we ran into

For the hackathon, we thought of learning something new, Python. We have coded in Java for the university, but Python was something new to us. Since our team is made up of four programming beginners and first time hackathon participators, the major challenges were to plan and start off with the programming.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have made the back end program run with the introduction of the game in Python. We have also demonstrated our design with UI, which we will be able to present. The introduction of the game and the end of the game is set up as well as the whole concept of the game.

What we learned

We have learnt the usage of Python and other programming languages that we have tried programming in the middle such as Django and Flask. We also have learnt the programming language Python itself.

What's next for Pigeon Run

What we have next for the game is the testing GPS with our game to test on the game.
