Picxie

Inspiration

We were inspired by various social media platforms and the photos app. We wanted to make photo sharing easier and available cross-platforms.

What it does

Picxie allows you to create shared albums available with your friends, families, and others. Picxie automatically sorts photos for you by when the event took place and where it was, making uploading photos a breeze. Picxie is mainly meant for users who want to share a mass number of photos from major social gathering events.

How we built it

We build this app using the MIT App Inventor.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some challenges involving run-time errors with our code. We spent a large amount of time trying to design our web page but, unfortunately, we had to delete the entire page due to a run-time error on the MIT App Inventor side.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud of our idea and design because we adore our originality to the media prompt. We also firmly believe that we would all use this app in actuality. We are also proud of our team work and overall flexibility! :)

What we learned

We learned how to effectively collaborate, create pitches in a short amount of time, and be confident in our own individual learning processes.

What's next for Picxie

We hope to expand Picxie in the future by allowing people to upload videos as well as photos and also be able to comment on other people's photo submissions. We would also like to implement duplicate recognition, facial tagging, and burst detection!
