Picxals NFT Game

Inspiration

We were inspired by Axie Infinity.

What it does

You acquire a Picxal Egg and send it to the Hatchery. You have to give it some love for a couple days, then you'll be able to hatch the egg into a Picxal creature.

How we built it

The egg contract was originally built in Python which will be converted in the future. The Hatchery SCORE and the Picxal SCORE are programmed in Java. The website is built in C# MVC.

Challenges we ran into

Java is a new language to the ICON SCOREs so it was a challenge making sure everything worked with the contracts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

When you finally hatch your Picxal Egg it will randomly generate a Picxal NFT with the breed and rarity, then it'll use the colors and pattern from the Egg you hatched (and the breed and rarity) to randomly generate a Picxal creature image with all of these elements and save the IPFS hash to the Picxal NFT.

What we learned

This was the first time programming the Java SCORE for ICON so it was a LOT of learning, but we eventually made it work and are excited for the future of Picxals.

What's next for Picxals NFT Game

Next we will work on the Stats and Training aspect of the game, then we'll focus on the actual TCG (Trading Card Game) where you'll be able to battle your Picxals like a mixture of Yugioh and Pokemon.
