Inspiration

Anyone who has had to teach colors to kids has seen just how much of a struggle it can be. Our app does this for you!

What it does

By taking a photo of the environment, our app selects a feature that has a distinguishable color. It will then ask the user what color that item is. The user can therefore learn his colors!

How we built it

The detectron2 algorithm segments the image. A color CNN determines the color of a certain item.

Challenges we ran into

Color detection is easy for humans but surprisingly hard for AI. There is a lot of context that AI can easily miss.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It detects people and colors! It really likes blue.
