Inspiration
We are freshmen who like to play pickup sports
What it does
The program allows you to schedule pickup games for sports at various locations around Georgia Tech and you can also view available scheduled pickup games
How we built it
We used html, css, and Javascript for the frontend, node.js and express.js for the backend and rest api, and we used mongo db as a database to store the scheduled pickup games
Challenges we ran into
None of us had experience with backend development so it was hard the start to build and implement our rest api.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to create a functioning website as this is our first hackathon
What we learned
We learned about the importance of team collaboration and using version control tools such as git.
What's next for PickupGT
We will continue to build it even after this hackathon is finished and hopefully deploy so that all Georgia Tech students can use it.
