Inspiration

For our project we aimed to address the frustrating issue that so many of us who live in high population areas are faced with, parking. For those who drive in a big city or metropolitan area it can be very hard to find a place to leave your vehicle that is both convenient and safe.

What it does

In order to solve this problem we have created a native web application that allows users to lease out their unutilized private parking spaces to individual's who need it.

How we built it

We did this by creating the mobile application and utilized machine learning technology to identify vehicles by type and recognize and calculate the size of parking spaces.

Challenges we ran into/Accomplishments

The biggest challenge was implementing and training the machine learning model and the fact that we got it to work is an accomplishment that I am particularly proud to say we achieved.

What we learned

This has been a fantastic learning experience that has improved our knowledge of machine learning technology as well as mobile application design and I hope that our application can benefit a wide array of users.

What's next for Pick and Park

This prototype can be expanded upon to make a legitimate business, who knows, maybe you'll be hearing more from team Pick and Park in the near future.
